monday’s photo (on tuesday…again)
This is another shot I took while climbing up the Castle Rock. The evening started out a bit drizzly, but then the sun broke through and we were able to watch a beautiful sunset.

castle rock
The youth group from Landmark Christian Academy in Kentucky came in yesterday and we took them all to climb the Castle Rock in town. It turned out to be a beautiful evening and a great little hike.
sunday shish kabobs
I don’t know if anyone else has this problem, but planning new and interesting meals never comes easily for me. It was Chris who came up with kabobs today, and it was the perfect summer dish. It was delicious, and looked so great- I had to share!

stuffing party
We got home about 2:30 in the morning from stuffing 15,000 postcards and John Romans into little plastic baggies. Between Thursday and last night we spent about 10 hours stuffing them and finally finished! The first youth group will be coming on Monday to help hang all of these bags on people’s doors, to invite […]
thursday’s art 24 july 08
I finally have an art post on my art post day! :) This piece is very different from any piece I’ve ever done, and it is fast becoming one of my favorites. One of my biggest frustrations when I paint is that I tend to over-smooth edges and end up just taking most of the […]
our baby is here!
Well, our baby canon came in today and I feel a bit like our family is complete :) Chris bought this 5D so that he has his own camera since I’ve been fairly possessive of our Nikon D70. We took them out for a walk this afternoon and got some pictures of the wonderfully […]
relative normalcy returned.
Mom and dad left for their three-day journey back to Ontario this morning. They left a wonderful stack of home interior magazines and a priceless jug of Canadian maple syrup. For some reason, I keep finding water glasses with about an inch of water in each of them, hidden in inconspicuous corners around the apartment […]
monday’s photo 21july08
I took this shot while we were in Fort Collins on the weekend. I’ve never seen a barber shop with all of the vintage equipment like this one had. Everything from the sinks to the waiting chairs were from at least fifty years old from my guessing. It was a really great shop, I only […]
saturday with the folks
Yesterday was a long, hot day but a great one. The original plan was to spend some time hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Park, but we didn’t quite get that far. In the morning Chris and my dad took the bikes out to catch some garage sales and then came back for the car […]
wildlife
Chris and I took a walk around our apartment complex and visited our bovine neighbors. It is pretty strange to see a field full of cows between us and the apartment complex beside us, but it provides interest. I am used to seeing cows from growing up on a small farm, but seeing them in […]
